BLOCK CAPTAIN COMMUNITY EVENT- Pine Trails Community Center was the site of two very successful COVID-19 Vaccination Days. On August 14 and September 4, the Harris County Public Health’s COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Team directed by Cleona Love with the Office of Public Health Preparedness & Response along with Abner Lyons, District Liaison for State Representative Harold Dutton partnered with the Pine Trails Block Captains Committee and Resident Volunteers to make the vaccine available to our community. During the two days the HCHD Nurses administered 189 Pfizer Vaccines to Pine Trails’ families and others from across Houston. Much appreciation to Pine Trails Resident Volunteers who contributed their time to this cause. And, “Thank You” to the Vaccine Receivers for making our community more protected from the COVID-19 Virus.

Fellow residents of the Pine Trails Community I am JERELYN HUGHES-GLENN. I have lived in the neighborhood for 26 years. I have been active in the community, offering free summer day camps to children, free Saturday morning movies for kids, free math tutoring for kids, free computer classes to adults, and free financial literacy classes at my church. I purposely recruited Pine Trails’ children and adults for these classes. Recently, I went door to door to let parents of recent high school graduates know about the free college education available to their children at San Jacinto College where I have been employed the last 12 years. I seek your vote as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pine Trails Community Improvement Association. As a member I hope to bring events like these to our own community center.

To get more of the community actively involved in a positive, constructive manner…just being a good neighbor… is my ongoing aim. Your vote would mean a great deal to me.
