· CONSTABLES CORNER: Precinct 3 Constable Sherman Eagleton and his team attended the February board meeting. Constable Eagleton and Chief Deputy Bonsal presented their plans for becoming more proactive in their services and working more closely with our residents. The Pine Trails neighborhood is their oldest contract and as such will benefit from this new program that will focus on problems such as illegal dumping, abandoned houses, abandoned cars, 18-wheelers, and in general a better quality of life for all. Older residents were encouraged to participate in the “Are You OK? (RUOK)” service which will schedule periodic phone calls to check up on people who live alone. The department has also acquired new High-Water Rescue vehicles. Homeowners had an opportunity to ask questions, make requests and voice their concerns.
· MOWING: The mowing of common areas within the community are on a set schedule. The Purple Sage esplanade/ vacant lot and community playground are mowed every two weeks. The pipeline areas, Dartwood, Edenglen, Lourdes and Northport are mowed once a month. Times may change due to weather conditions or special events.
· PIPELINE INSTALLATION: At the end of February, 2019, the Association was informed that Targa Resources has repaired all sidewalks and street curbs on Purple Sage that were damaged during construction, and was still in the process of final clean-up of the right of way itself; they were to seed and fertilize the ground disturbed during construction as weather permits. If you experienced any collateral damage resulting from the installation that has not been corrected, please notify the office for referral to Targa Resources.
· GALENA PARK ISD: Two seats on the school board are up for general election on May 4, 2019. The filing date for this election was February 15, 2019. Candidates are not known at this time of publication. Look to Vote!
· SPRING CLEANING SEASON: The time of year which requires mowing, edging, trimming, removing clutter, repairing and painting is here. Remove inoperable vehicles from your yard, driveway and street. Mattresses, ladders, indoor furniture, old appliances, garbage, etc. should not be stored openly on patios, in side yards or be visible from the street. Corner lots require more attention due to additional exposure from the street. Please, take down Christmas decorations. Last of all, check on your neighbor to see if they need help; circumstances may arise that cause them to be remiss in the upkeep of their yard.
· MAIL DELIVERY: A number of homeowners have mistakenly placed their garbage cans in front of their mailbox making access to it difficult for the mail carriers. Please pay close attention to the placement of your trash cans, bags and other items you place near your mailbox.
· TOWING: Posted Harris County Ordinances are currently being enforced by
Precinct 3. Beginning in February, several vehicles were warned and/or towed for violating Texas Transportation Code 545.307 which states….No Parking Commercial Motor Vehicles in subdivision, 10 AM- 6PM. If your vehicle has been towed per this ordinance, please call Harris County dispatch @ 281-427-4791. Or if you see a vehicle parked in violation of the code, please call the dispatch office to report.
· PINE TRAIL’S SEMI-ANNUAL COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE: Saturday, April 06, 8AM-8 PM. An advertisement will be placed in the local Green Sheet one week prior to the event. If three or more homeowners on the same block call the office to report their sale, the block location will be placed on the marquee as space allows. NO homeowner announcement sale signs are to be posted prior to the Friday before the sale event. All signs are to be removed by homeowners immediately following the end of the sale.
